Digital products for energy storage
I have been working as a UI/UX designer at VARTA Storage GmbH for almost a year now. I work on the digital products for the various energy storage systems at VARTA Storage.
My daily tasks include creating low and high fidelity wireframes for websites and apps to develop user-friendly and engaging designs. I conduct interviews with various stakeholders, including end customers, installers and internal colleagues at VARTA, and analyse the insights gained to gain important key knowledge. In addition, I am responsible for the creation and ongoing maintenance of the VARTA Storage design system. Working closely with front-end developers for web and app, I ensure that the design concepts are realised.
Tasks at the VARTA Storage
Now you're probably curious to know what digital products I'm working on for VARTA Storage GmbH. Unfortunately, I can't share any specific projects with you at the moment as they are still in the development phase and have not yet been published. But here some informations about my current work.
Designsystem
As the first UI/UX designer at VARTA Storage GmbH, I had the exciting task of developing the VARTA Storage design system in Figma. Within this framework, I defined basic design elements such as fonts, colours, spacing and components. This design system serves as a standardised basis for all digital products of VARTA Storage GmbH and is continuously expanded and adapted with each new project. This ensures a consistent and user-friendly user experience that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. With each expansion of the system, we ensure that the visual identity of the brand is strengthened and the user experience is optimised across all platforms.
VARTA Storage Portal and Apps
In the future, VARTA Storage wants to offer its customers and installers first-class digital services. We are therefore continuously developing new features for the existing apps and the Varta.energy portal in order to best fulfil the needs and wishes of our customers. However, one of my tasks is to develop completely new digital products in the form of apps and websites. As part of this work, I have already conducted surveys with installers, which provided valuable insights into their requirements and challenges.
I have also developed two initial prototypes for the VARTA Storage Future Portal, which were exhibited as part of a live test at Intersolar 2024. There, installers had the opportunity to test the prototypes directly and provide valuable feedback on usability and design.
